Saturdays Class
Acrylics Inventions, working with Golden Products. Our first exercise was to work with Heavy body paints and try to paint the pear the teacher handed out to each of us. Can you see it. The back ground I just did a little of this and a little of that.

Next we worked with fluid acrylic paints and tryed painting the same pear. There is such a difference in the two paints. I haven't worked much with the heavy body paints and maybe now I know why. The fluid paints I thought flowed smoother and easier to handle.

Next we moved on to some of the grounds that golden makes. Very different and interesting textures. This one is Coarse Pumic Gel that we were to experiment painting on. Very rough texture, of course it is pumic. We worked with Fluid acrylics for all the texture projects we did.

This is the Glass Bead Gel texture. Also interesting. Was not sure how to feel about this one. Though I have another idea that I can use the glass bead gel on. Not neccessary involving paint.

The last texture we worked on is Crackle Paste. Interesting to see how the paint reacted and flowed through the cracks in the paste. It does give it that mosaic look.

Interesting class all around. Learned alot of new things. Of course that is my goal with any class. Is that I leave hoping that I have learned something new.

One more thing to share with you. About three weeks ago I ordered a bag from Tammy Gilley and she is so quick in sending her items out that I received it in two days. Beofre she headed off to Silver Bella. It has felt like I have had this bag forever that I forgot to share. So here it is.

The inside view. Two pockets on each side for smaller items. Great design and size, it was tough to choose between the ones she had on her etsy store.

So for now that is all. Except to say that Everyone have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Cheers :)

Making Progress

Here is a sneak peak at what I have been working on for my many projects I have going on.

This is a piece that I created to put on my Round Robin book that I need to have my pages done by November 30th and mailed on to the next person. It says Feelings of Fall stamped on it.

This is the front and back view of my pages for the Chunky book swap that I am in right now. The theme for this is 'A Few of my Favorite things'. So I put together a page that shows my cats, apples and the color yellow. Just a few of my favorite things. The back page is just a quick write up on my favorite things. With a Moo card attached by ribbon.

I still have my Valentine's Charm I need to put together. Though I have all of my supplies and ideas figured out. I'll see if it works once I try putting it all together. Wish me luck.

One more photo to share with you. I was heading back from my Acrylic Inventions class I took on Saturday, pictures from that class at a later time, and I headed past this.

In Portland's living room, as it is called, the Christmas Tree is being put up and trimmed. After Thanksgiving is when the lights will be lit and the magic comes to life.

Cheers :)

A little shopping

To get ready for putting together all of my creations that I am involved in I had to add to my supply collection, always. I have a Round Robin that I am in with 10 other ladies and I picked the theme Feelings of Fall. I had alot of stuff to go with this theme but when I saw this stamp set I just had to add it to my collection. It came as all one but I may cut them apart and have them as smaller individual stamps.

I also got this background stamp. It is called Sanded. What background paper could not use a little more sanding. Or at least look like it was sanded.

Can't have enought stamps. I ordered these from my Stampin Up! demonstrator.

I also went and visited the Speckled Egg online store and found some great things. I found some beads and such for my Valentines Charm swap I am in. Even though it is a while away my mind is already thinking and creating what I am wanting to do for my charm. This is a group of ladies that initially formed a charm swap for the Portland Art and Soul retreat, making 50 or so charms for that. The charms were such a big hit that our Yahoo group had opened up the registration to new members. So this Valentines charm swap has grown to 50 ladies as well, some current and some new members. That is a large number. Our friend from Art and Soul Kecia so graciously took on the task of hosting the swap. Some of those ribbons may make it into my feelings of fall book.

My other swap that I am in is a Chunky book swap that has a theme of "My Favorite Things". With it being close to Christmas the hostess of this swap thought that 25 was a great number to work with. So I have 25 identical pages to put together, about a few of my favorite things, by the begining of December to send off to her.

While I was at my Altered Book club at Collage I did some shopping and saw these great Rub On product. While I was taking a class at Art and Soul my table mate Kerry Hoyle was using some. Her collage creation showed great depth after using these.

Until next time keep creating. :)
